Hello friends,
It's been a very busy and eventful spring season for me!
I am thrilled to be able to tell you that How the Gimquat Found Her Song just won a Banff Rocky Award for best children's program. I was the lead designer and illustrator on the project. The special was produced by Trace Picture and Oz Media in conjunction with TVOntario, The Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Platypus Theater. We used a combination of live action and multiple animation techniques to tell the story of an awkward, songless bird who goes on a quest, with the help of a kindly wizard, to find her song. Live performances by The Toronto Symphony Orchestra combined with the rich animated scenes make for a compelling story. I am very proud to have contributed to the production! It was certainly a labour of love.
